In addition to the recently announced Jazz @ Massey Hall and National Geographic Live series, 2012|13 will see performances by the iconic voices of Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, Bettye LaVette, and The Blind Boys of Alabama. Chilly Gonzales, Royal Wood, Skydiggers, Dala, The Barra MacNeils with Alan Doyle, Jimmy Rankin + more, and Danny Michel & The Magnificent Seven lead a long list of outstanding Canadian artists to look forward to as well as a special evening with Pink Martini accompanied by our very own Toronto Symphony Orchestra with conductor Stephen Reineke.

Roy Thomson Hall, home of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, celebrates its 30th anniversary this Season.

The Hall was named in honour of the late Roy Thomson as gratitude of his family’s $4.5 million donation to the concert hall’s construction. Roy Thomson Hall held its inaugural concert gala, which featured both the TSO and the Toronto Mendelsohn Choir, on September 13, 1982. The festivities kick-started what would become an exciting and inspired three decades, contributing to Toronto’s incredible arts and cultural communities.

The Corporation is proud to continue its support of Canadian talent and introduces a new series, Massey Hall presents Canadian Songbook at The Rivoli, showcasing some of our country’s most exciting up and coming songwriters in a casual club setting, one of Toronto’s most loved locations for musical discovery, The Rivoli on Queen Street West.

SERIES
Due to overwhelming demand, the widely popular National Geographic Live series returns to Roy Thomson Hall with a second night added for each event. Each of the evenings features world-renowned photographers, explorers, and scientists who take Toronto audiences behind their adventures and projects for National Geographic. And new this year, TIFF will host special interactive and engaging student matinees.

There is something remarkable about seeing jazz music at Massey Hall and the 2012|13 Jazz @ Massey Hall series brings four exceptional and diverse jazz concerts including Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, and Esperanza Spalding to this historic stage. Now entering its sophomore season, vocal recital series Canadian Voices at Glenn Gould Studio returns featuring four of the finest young singers our country has fostered.
