Eight-Time Canadian Open Champion Louis Schryer Fiddles While His Daughters Stepdance
On Thursday, August 4 at 7:30 p.m., the Rotary Club of Shelburne is pleased to welcome back eight time Canadian Open Old Time Fiddle Champion and four time Canadian Grand Masters Fiddle Champion Louis Schryer. Louis has been a judge in Shelburne several times (and will be again in 2011). He last performed in Shelburne, with his siblings, in 2007.
Louis, born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, now a resident of Chapeau, Quebec, has been playing the fiddle since the age of eight. Being from a musically inclined family, he received his training in both classical and traditional music. Music is Louis' life. The energy, enthusiasm, and quality of his music makes it a pleasure to both see and hear. Louis’ daughters, Chelsey and Kaitlyn, are fabulous and energetic step dancers that always leave the audience wanting to see more. They steal the show every time!
$17,000 in Prizes Will Be Awarded
