Canadian icon, Toronto landmark, engineering wonder…on June 26,
2012 the CN Tower will mark the 36th year since it opened to the
public in 1976. The CN Tower is Toronto’s ultimate urban adventure - here
are some of the exciting events coming up at the CN Tower during the summer
2012 season:
NEW - CN TOWER Takes Flight with new 3D Movie
Beginning June 29, 2012, the CN Tower’s Maple Leaf Cinema
will feature Legends of Flight, a 3D journey exploring the history of
aviation. www.cntower.ca.
Legends of Flight is a 20 minute movie that propels audiences on a 3D
journey across a century of aviation to explore the gravity-defying world of
flight and to witness the unfolding of one of the greatest aviation projects of
our age: the creation of the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner. As this radical new
airplane evolves in the assembly bay, test pilot Mike Carriker takes us into
the sky with classic aircraft to explore the ingredients that can make or
break a great flying machine.
The CN Tower’s Maple Leaf Cinema is one of Toronto’s most
versatile theatre venues used for public as well as private event
screenings. The Maple Leaf Cinema is fully equipped with the latest in Digital Cinema Technology with a State of the
Art High Definition DCI Compliant Projection system from Christie with full 2K
resolution. The theatre also features the latest in digital 3D cinema
technology for visitors to enjoy the new and improved 3D experience. The
projection is driven by the latest video server technology for all modern
digital cinema formats coming out of Hollywood and independent production
houses. The theatre also includes a bigger, brighter screen and a
complete Digital Cinema Audio experience enabling guests to hear the movies
like never before in complete state of the art digital cinema surround sound.
Lastly, state of the art 3D viewing technology by Xpand using an electronic
shutter glass system provides a brighter, clearer and overall better 3D
experience.

Recommended access during summer construction
Due to construction around the CN Tower this summer, it is recommended
that visitors to the Tower (especially those who may require assistance with
strollers or wheelchairs) plan to arrive via Bremner Blvd.
