Oxfordlicious 2012 – Celebrating local food from field to fork in September

(News Release)

September 5, 2012

Woodstock, ON – It’s that time of year again! With the fall harvest upon us, the bounty found in the fields around Oxford County is making its way to the plates of local restaurants.

Oxfordlicious is a month-long promotion in which participating restaurants offer special local food menus and diners who order from these special Oxfordlicious menus can fill out ballots to win great prizes awarded at the end of the month.

New for 2012, Oxfordlicious is expanding to also include local “foodie” retailers and food producers in Oxford County. When shoppers purchase $10 or more of local products from the participating “foodie” retailers and local food producers, they too will receive a ballot to fill out for their chance to win great prizes.

“Local produce is at a peak right now,” says Cathy Bingham from Tourism Oxford. “What a wonderful time of year to be celebrating freshness during Oxfordlicious!”

The more restaurants, retailers, and food producers you visit, the more chances to win! This September is about adventures in good eating—enjoy great local food, either from local chefs or directly from local retailers and growers and get a chance at great prizes…it’s a win-win situation!

A full list of participating restaurants, along with their Oxfordlicious menus, and participating retailers and food producers is available on the Oxfordlicious website (www.oxfordlicious.com).
