The King Edward Hotel tempts chocoholics with new afternoon tea service

Limited time chocolate tea launches for Toronto Chocolate Festival

TORONTO, September 24, 2012 – Toronto’s first luxury hotel, The King Edward will be tempting every sweet-tooth across the city with their new limited edition afternoon tea service.

The King’s Chocolate Inspired Afternoon Tea will launch at Victoria’s Restaurant on October 12 as part of the city-wide Toronto Chocolate Festival, which runs through November 4.

An enticing addition to The King Edward Hotel’s current afternoon tea offerings, The King’s Chocolate Tea includes a choice between two specially-blended chocolate teas – Chocolate Macaroon, a delicate Ceylon tea scented with sweet chocolate and coconut and topped with cacao nibs; and Chocolat, an exotic medium-bodied black Ceylon tea with high-grade chocolate oil.
Tea-lovers will enjoy a two-tiered selection of sweet and savoury treats such as a flourless chocolate cakelet, chocolate and salt caramel truffle tart, cocoa butter brushed cone with duck confit and classic egg, smoked turkey and roast beef finger sandwiches.

“Afternoon Tea has been an institution at The King Edward Hotel since our opening nearly 110 years ago,” says Daniel Schick, Executive Chef at The King Edward Hotel. “Our two chocolate teas are a great way to get in the spirit of the Chocolate Festival and also give back to a worthy cause.”

The King’s Chocolate Tea is $39 and $5 of each sale will be donated in support of prostate and breast cancer initiatives. Afternoon Tea at The King Edward Hotel is served Friday through Sunday from 2:30 – 5:00pm. Call 416-863-4125 for reservations.

Now in its seventh year, the Toronto Chocolate Festival includes events across the GTA and Southern Ontario, such as the 7th Annual Chocolate Ball Gala, October 19th at Roy Thomson Hall. For a full listing of Chocolate Festival events, visit www.TorontoChocolateFestival.com.

  1. Chocolate has always been considered a natural antidepressant and a drug for brain activity. However, the overuse of these foods causes excess weight and other troubles. I prefer to relieve stress using CBD oil - https://purekana.com/collections/capsules-pills/ This medicine is based on cannabis and has excellent sedative properties. You can check it for yourself.
