The winning landmark was the world famous CN Tower!
TORONTO……The
16-foot, CN Tower replica is built entirely of LEGO® bricks, and was
unveiled at CN Tower as the winner of LEGOLAND® Discovery
Centre’s MINILAND® Vote.
The
CN Tower, the top vote getter in Canada’s first MINILAND contest, will
remain on display in the CN Tower Gift Shop to the viewing public until
January 28th, 2013, before
moving to the MINILAND® attraction at LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Toronto – to open in Spring, 2013.
"We
are very excited to have the CN Tower model in our MINILAND" said Rene
Gurtner, General Manager of LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Toronto. "The CN
Tower is one of the most
famous landmarks in Canada - and possibly the world. To have a replica
of this famous Canadian structure in the first Canadian MINILAND is very
fitting."
The
CN Tower, arguably the most visible landmark in Toronto’s skyline, is
now the official winner of LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Toronto’s
MINILAND® contest, which saw a
field of 20 landmarks, narrowed to the top ten. Each of these
landmarks will be immortalized in LEGO® bricks and featured in the
MINILAND® portion of LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre when it opens in Spring,
2013.
The replica took more than three months to build and features LED lights – just like the real CN Tower.

The rest of the top ten will be unveiled via the LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Toronto’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/LDCToronto)
starting on Saturday, January 12.
Visitors to the CN Tower can enter to win an annual pass for four to LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Toronto.
