Award Presentation:
On Tuesday, June 25, 2013 the Toronto Zoo's
Conservation, Education and Wildlife Department presented a special
award to a young conservation support for his outstanding contribution
to save an endangered species.Matthew Clowater an elementary school student
and conservation supporter, created an art show fundraiser in support
of a little-known and highly endangered, Mexican salamander. In
the hopes of raising money to help save the endangered amphibian,
Clowater (spearheaded project) and five of his friends decided to create
and sell axolotl-centric artwork. The art will be displayed in the
kids' boutique Planet Kid. Great job Matthew!
