 A brash brand of supafunkrock, a mash-up of jazz, funk and soul backed with hard-rock power chords and hip-hop beats

Canadian Jazz Quartet with Special Guest Houston Person
7:30pm, Home Smith Bar, Old Mill Toronto (21 Old Mill Road)
A giant of soul and groove based jazz joins the all-star quartet

8pm & 10pm, Jazz Bistro (251 Victoria Street)
An incandescent, jazz-tinged singer with a cool, smoky sound

Jason Moran’s Fats Waller Dance Party feat. Meshell Ndegeocello                                
10pm, Horseshoe Tavern (370 Queen Street West)
Reinterpreting the works of Fats Waller, whose music was the soundtrack to the original dance party in the 20s and 30s, the two will transform Waller’s rollicking stride piano style into contemporary dance music

An 18-piece big band comprised of some of the city’s best young jazz musicians

Combining traditional aspects of Indian wedding band with funk grooves and jazz-infused solos

Shannon Butcher Quartet
6pm, Trinity Stage, Distillery District

Maylee Todd
7pm, Shops at Don Mills (1090 Don Mills Road)
A frees spirit who combines a mix of musical sounds into honest, soulful, harmonious yet uncompromising vibrations
