About Turtlefest
Turtlefest is based on a legendary promise by Tillsonburg’s founder, George Tillson, to return one day as a turtle to see how his town was prospering. Several years after his passing, a giant turtle was found on the banks of the Otter Creek near the Tillson homestead. Remembering his promise, Tillsonburg citizens brought the turtle to the downtown area and everyone was invited to come and see “George” and let him know how the town was doing. It’s been over a hundred and thirty years since this event and Tillsonburg is still growing. With over 4,500 attendees in 2012, we are inviting everybody to visit Tillsonburg on June 14 – 15 to enjoy Tillsonburg’s newest community festival!

Directions: Travelling from Hwy 401 take exit 218 and travel south to Tillsonburg.
