Norfolk County Fair & Horse Show releases Tuesday night concert headliners -- Music from the 1970s

Simcoe, Ontario- The Norfolk County Fair & Horse Show is excited to announce the first of three concert experiences for the Grandstand at this year’s Fair.

On Tuesday, October 8th at 8:00 pm the Grandstand will come alive with music from the 70’s featuring five iconic artists performing their biggest hits. “Sail Rock” will feature Christopher Cross, Orleans, Dan Ford Coley, Player and Gary Wright.

“This concert will feature nothing but hits from the original voices who brought us this great music”, says Karen Matthews, Manager of the Norfolk County Fair & Horse Show.

“For many fans of music, this is the soundtrack of their lives! We are thrilled to present a show of this caliber. It will definitely be a night of one hit after another and a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience these iconic artists all on one stage”.

“Our team is gearing up for a fantastic Fair this October”, she added, “and our volunteer entertainment committee, under the leadership of Alan Duthie has been working really hard to provide a diverse lineup for this year”. Two more concert announcements will follow in the upcoming weeks.

During the 70’s, no matter where you were in North America, it was likely that you were listening to many of these hits on your favorite radio station; “Sailing”, “Ride like the Wind”, "Still The One," "Dream Weaver," "You Are The Woman" and "I'd Really Love to See You Tonight", and “Dance with Me” among others that were the music staples of the summer.

Here it is, well over three decades later, and not only do fans and followers remember the songs, they recollect the great memories that often come along with them. This is the chance to relive some of those good times with an evening of SAIL ROCK.

We gratefully acknowledge the assistance of Myfm 98.9, and the Simcoe Reformer in presenting this concert.

All concert tickets go on sale at 9:00 am on Thursday August 8th.  The Fair is launching a new on line ticketing system which will see music fans going online to choose and purchase their seats through www.norfolkcountyfair.com. Tickets can also be purchased at the fair office at 172 South Drive, Building #5 (Curling Building), Simcoe or by telephone at (519) 426-7280 x 233.
