Woodstock, ON – This free
festival will be taking place July 12-14, featuring incredible music, crafters,
food vendors and dance at the Yvonne Holmes Mott Memorial Park in Ingersoll.
The line up of entertainment is featuring three incredible East Coast
musicians: “Natalie MacMaster, Lennie Gallant, and The Once.”.
The Canterbury Folk Festival is all about the music with
multiple stages and activities through out the weekend.
Main Stage Performers at the Yvonne Hunt
Memorial Stage has many different acts throughout the weekend like Magoo, the
Ingersoll Pipe Band, The Schotts, The Mandates & Friends, Ingersoll’s own
Ted Comiskey & Jim Gonder/Bob Breen, Tia MacGraff. Then right into the
eventing Magna Carta, Natalie MacMaster and Steel City Rovers to mention a few. You may want to bring your lawn chairs or
blankets to enjoy the performances.
Saturday features a number of music "workshops"
on the East and West stages in the park as well as at the Gazebo stage
downtown. A workshop consists of several musicians on stage taking turns
presenting a song according to a theme such as "Songs of Home" or
"Axe to Grind". You never know what to expect!! Budding
musicians can also take to the stage for an Open Stage located downtown.
Workshops start at 10:30 and run throughout the day. See our website for

Since this is a family festival there are definitely
things for children to take part in at the Children’s Stage located at the Yvonne
Holmes Mott Memorial Park at the south end.
All of the shows are on Saturday July 13. They are sure to enjoy Camperoo Lou,
Shipwrecked at Monga Bonga, Folks on the Fiddle and Magoo and more throughout
the day.
For those who enjoy Dance you might want to wander to the
Dance Stage located in Downtown Ingersoll at the corners of King and Thames Sts.
with the entertainment taking place on the Saturday. Enjoy the Jamie Stuyt from Diamond Dance
Centre of Ingersoll, Rakshanda Dancers, Judith Coleman of Oxford School of
Dance, Sarajayne Sweetland and Friends, Highland Dance and more.
This family festival that has something for everyone!
Start with Breakfast in the Park on Saturday and Sunday from 8 am to 11:30 am
which is hosted by the Beachville Legion. Then browse amongst the 34 craft
vendors with All That Jazz Face Painting, Crystal McMaster Jewellery & Photography,
C & D Steel Works/Creations and even Dr. T’s Temporary Tattoos to mention a
few. You can also enjoy munching on Classic Kettle Corn, Dairy King ice cream,
also the usual fare of burgers, corn dogs, fries, pizza and Souvlaki too. The Annual Pig Roast “Swine & Wine” is on
Friday starting at 5pm. Tickets $12 and
available on-site.
Directions:
From Hwy 401, take exit 218 and travel north on Hwy 19
and turn left on Canterbury St. travelling north west to the event grounds on
your right just before you reach the corner at Thames St. Visit the website to
