Doon Heritage Village in Kitchener opens for the season

WATERLOO REGION – Doon Heritage Village, the engaging and picturesque 60-acre living history village, opened for the season on May 1.


The village shows visitors what life was like in Waterloo Region in the year 1914 with restored historic buildings, farm animals, fun activities for the family to enjoy, and knowledgeable interpreters dressed in authentic 1914 clothing that bring history to life.

The Waterloo Region Museum and Doon Heritage Village spring and summer operational hours are May 1 to September 7, Monday through Sunday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.



One low admission price includes Doon Heritage Village, the Waterloo Region Museum feature and main exhibit galleries, and the Waterloo Region Hall of Fame.


Adult - $10 Senior & student - $8 Children ages 5 to 12 - $5 Children ages 4 & under - Free Family (2 adults & dependent children) - $25 (rates plus HST)

Doon Heritage Village, Waterloo Region Museum, and the Waterloo Region Hall of Fame are located at 10 Huron Road in Kitchener, ON.

Waterloo Region Museum is the largest community museum in Ontario. The main gallery of the museum tells the story of Waterloo Region and the feature gallery of the museum showcases changing local and travelling exhibits from around the world. Doon Heritage Village is a picturesque 60-acre living history village that interprets life in Waterloo Region in the year 1914. Doon Heritage Village is a seasonal village that is open May 1 to Dec. 23. Waterloo Region Hall of Fame is located on the second floor of the Waterloo Region Museum and tells the stories of over 400 inductees. The Hall of Fame features exhibits and an electronic kiosk that contains photos and biographies.


Admission includes the Museum, Village and Hall of Fame: Adult - $10, Senior & student - $8, Children ages 5 to 12 - $5 Children ages 4 and under - Free Family (2 adults and dependent children) - $25 All rates plus HST. Waterloo Region Museum campus facilities include: • Indoor museum exhibit galleries • A picturesque 60 acre living history village that interprets life in Waterloo Region in the year 1914 • 114 seat Christie® Theatre, meeting rooms, green space and a grand foyer for community rental • Artifact storage and preservation facilities
