Sunday evening band concerts return for summer season in Orillia

The City of Orillia Sunday evening band concert series is back for another summer season at the Rotary Aqua Theatre.

“The Sunday evening concert series has been an Orillia cultural tradition for nearly 40 years. We are looking forward to another summer of great performances and are particularly excited to begin the season with the Neema Children’s Choir,”  said Jacqueline Soczka, Manager of Culture for the City of Orillia.

Taking place a stones throw away from Couchiching Beach, residents and visitors can enjoy great live performances from the region’s top bands, all while soaking in Orillia’s natural beauty.

In the event of inclement weather, the Sunday evening concert will be moved to the Gordon Lightfoot Auditorium at the Orillia Opera House, which accommodates up to 450 people.

In previous years, a rained-out concert was moved to the Council Chamber at City Centre, where the audience was limited to 100 people.

The City will also be soliciting feedback on the concert series in the form of an audience survey available online at www.orillia.ca/bandconcerts as of Sunday and in hardcopy format at each concert.

Below is the schedule for the 2015 Sunday Evening Band Concerts. All concerts are free to the public, though donations are welcome. Please note the new start time for all concerts is 6:30 p.m.
