Experience a 19th century rural fair at Fanshawe Pioneer Village in London, Ontario

 
August 6, 2015  London, Ontario – Experience all the pleasures of a 19th century rural fair with threshing demonstrations, games of chance and musical entertainment on Aug. 15 and 16 at Fanshawe Pioneer Village in London, Ontario.

Enjoy your own thresherman’s lunch in the Pioneer Village Café featuring Shepard’s pie, mixed greens and bread pudding.


Village volunteers have worked all season to present their best examples of arts and crafts and garden produce in fair exhibits.

Watch the threshing of the oat crop and plowing of the farm fields by antique tractors.  See the rare 1924 Ruston-Hornsby engine hard at work powering the sawmill and watch the sawing of logs into lumber.

Try your hand at 19th century games of chance and enjoy the sweet sounds of Three Penny Piece
