Visit the ROM in December to enjoy the new Wildlife Photographer of the Year (WPY) exhibition. WPY features

The Royal Conservatory of Music
December concerts at The Royal Conservatory's Koerner Hall feature Soledad Barrio and Noche Flamenca performing two evening concerts on December 2 and 3, plus a third show on the afternoon of December 3 as part of the Family Concerts series. Pianist Stewart Goodyear performs a concert on December 4 that will also be livestreamed so people around the globe can watch from rcmusic.ca/livestream. Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre
December brings fun cultural events at the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre, a.k.a. "The J". Menopause Out Loud, a
comedic musical parody staged to 25 classic hits of the '60s, '70s and
'80s, plays until December 4 in the Al Green Theatre. On December 11,
The Toronto Jewish Film Society screens The Infidel at 4pm & 7pm in the Al Green Theatre. The Infidel is
a hilarious take on contemporary Jewish and Muslim cultures in the U.K.

The Toronto Consort presents A Medieval Christmas. The
Middle Ages produced some of the most serene and heartfelt music of all
time. Breaking from our traditional concert format, The Toronto Consort
will provide patrons with a well-deserved opportunity to pause,
reflect, and reenergize by not only highlighting music, written from
1100 to 1500 AD in England, Cyprus, Italy and Poland and in Middle
English, Latin, German, and Italian, but also by projecting above the
stage a treasure trove of images including stain glass, illuminations
and medieval paintings in a darkened Jeanne Lamon Hall. A Medieval

In December, Alliance Française
presents amazing concerts, interesting lectures and beautiful movies
for all tastes. Three lectures will take place in the Spadina Theatre. On December 2, Alliance Française hosts Québéc novelist Yves Beauchemin, and on December 7 Michel Raymond,
research director at CNRS, will talk about natural selection. To end
2016 on a high note, Alliance Française is offering two exceptional
concerts. On December 3, singer Lorraine Klaasen will perform a tribute to Miriam Makeba. On December 4, in time for the festive season, soprano Christina Tannous and pianist Dominic Boulianne will perform a classical music concert. Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra takes you on A Grand Tour of Italy to devour the new "baroque" style of 17th -century
Italy, with music that was fresh, exhilarating, and even shocking in
its use of free form and improvisation. This tour explores the music by
the early Italian innovators - Castello, Uccellini, and Marini - and the
later masters they inspired, Corelli and Vivaldi. Journey with

Museum of Estonians Abroad/VEMU
In December at the Museum of Estonians Abroad/VEMU, the exhibition Free Lines. Portraits from the Restored Republic of Estonia by Andrus Peegelis
available to view. This exhibition marks 25 years since the restoration
of the Republic of Estonia's independence highlighting current
important Estonian cultural and political figures. On December 7 at 7pm, Estonian filmmaker Marko Raat will be giving a lecture, From the Supermarket Conveyor Belt to a Hole Made by a Stone Axe. The Estonian National Museum's 100 Film Screens. How
can one show yesterday's and today's invisible everyday life through
film in a modern museum? Marko Raat will tell us how, by describing the
process of creating exhibition material for the new Estonian National
Museum building. The new Estonian National Museum building was opened at
the end of September. It was designed by the Dorell, Ghotmeh, Tane

The Bloor St. Culture Corridor, Toronto's
most diverse arts and culture district, is a true creative cluster, an
arts and culture destination, and a collaboration between some of
Toronto's most dynamic arts and culture organizations.
All 19 of the
Bloor St. Culture Corridor organizations present arts and cultural
events for the public year-round in destination venues - all located in a
cluster along a vibrant stretch of Bloor Street West. The Bloor St.
Culture Corridor offers the public a wide variety of arts genres, from
museum experiences to films, art exhibitions to music concerts,
and opportunities to experience some of Toronto's cultural diversity,
including French, Jewish, Italian, Japanese, Estonian, and Aboriginal
arts and culture.
Each year more
than three million members of the public go to Bloor St. Culture
Corridor arts and culture destinations, and attend exhibitions,
performances, and events. Together, the Bloor St. Culture Corridor
organizations generate more than $629,500,000 in economic impact each
year. In October 2016, The Bloor St. Culture Corridor was successful in
working with the City of Toronto to have Bloor St. West, between
Bathurst and Bay streets, designated an official City of Toronto
cultural corridor.
