Catch a performance by Aqua Cirque,
a colourful and enchanting water-themed circus show! A tiny but mighty
seahorse and his aquatic friends need your help to fend off a wicked sea
serpent. Stay after the show to learn some circus tricks of your own.
2. Be on the ball
Climb atop the replica HTO Pendulum Wave, presented by Menkes
photo opp and snap the perfect start-of-summer selfie. The full-sized
swinging beach balls will be just a few steps away. Look up and admire
the installation that was made in Canada and inspired by Toronto’s
vibrant waterfront.
3. Hug a mascot
There are no shortage of mascots this year: Billy Bishop Airport’s Billy the Flying Fox, Live Green Toronto’s Woody the Tree, Parks Canada’s Parka, the Navy’s Sonar and characters from the upcoming movie Teen Titans! The kids will love it.
4. Stand at attention
Try on some Army and Navy gear and chat with an officer about how you can jion the forces. Be sure to check out the HMCS Oriole, the Navy’s longest serving tall ship docked at HTO Park.
5. Take in the views of the six
Relax at the Redpath Sugar
picnic area in HTO Park and surround yourself with waterfront
views. With the HMCS Oriole, giant beach balls and delicious food
vendors, it's a sweet place to hang out and take in the festival.
6. Giddy-up
Take
a spin on the traditional carousel in Sherbourne Common – horses,
carriages and all. Then learn a new magic trick from one of the many
roaming buskers. Fun for everyone.
7. Indulge! It's the weekend
With
buttery corn on the cob, spicy fajitas, juicy pork sandwiches and more -
you’ll have trouble choosing just one. Discover these mouthwatering
eats and other homemade products at the Waterfront Artisan Market.
8. Snag a ton of freebies
From
fresh Ace Bakery bread and Pure Leaf Iced Tea, to Stubb’s BBQ chicken
wings and Booster Juice, there will be loads of free food and items to
sample and enjoy throughout the entire festival.
9. Step up your cocktail game
It’s time to head back to school... cocktail school that is. Learn the ABC’s of mixing delicious drinks at the Wine & Spirit Festival. After class, kick back on the beach with a craft beer or glass of wine.
10. Get your steps in
The
festival spans two kilometres of the waterfront and we encourage those
who are able to walk from one end to the other and experience all that
