Summertime and the learnin’ is easy!
“Interesting People & Their Passions”
Tuesdays, 1:30 – 2:30 pm

(Ingersoll, Ontario) Area seniors (55+) with an appetite for learning are invited to attend a series of post-lunch summer talks at Ingersoll’s Elm Hurst Inn & Spa.

The free Tuesday speakers’ series will take place at Elm Hurst from 1:30 – 2:30, following the popular Tuesday Seniors’ Lunch Buffet.

Tuesday July 19: Celebrating Creative Artists in our Midst
Mary-Anne Murphy, Cultural Coordinator of Oxford Creative Connections, is preparing for the first annual Oxford Summer Arts Festival Show & Sale, to take place at Elm Hurst Sunday, July 24. She will share some examples of the wonderful artwork to be featured at the show. 

Tuesday July 26: Travels with my Oboe with Ian Franklin, Principal Oboe, Orchestra London. From dog-sledding in the Yukon, to the night markets of Taiwan, to the heart of Colonial Mexico, Ian shares road stories with his double-reed, and plays a bit too!

About Elm Hurst Inn & Spa

The Elm Hurst mansion was built in 1872 by James Harris and remained the family homestead for more than 100 years. Today, the original mansion is home to a restaurant with nine private dining rooms, while a modern addition houses a 49-room Inn, Aveda Spa and several reception halls. The adjoining Carriage House is also a popular location for weddings and corporate events.

The 33-acre property was purchased by London-based Farhi Holdings Corporation in November, 2009. The Victorian mansion underwent more than $1 million in renovations last summer, with extensive landscaping work also being undertaken. Upgrades to the Inn’s interior are now underway.
