Rob Schneider to headline 2nd annual Comics on the Rocks festival at Deerhurst Resort


See world-class comedians with packages from $259/night

HUNTSVILLE, ON, January 14, 2013Deerhurst, a Skyline Resort, in partnership with the Town of Huntsville will be bringing the laughs north of Toronto for the 2nd annual Comics on the Rocks Festival, February 8-10.

Headlined by Emmy-nominated actor and stand-up comedian, Rob Schneider, the weekend-long event will feature non-stop comedy at several venues throughout Huntsville and at Deerhurst’s new Legacy Hall venue. 

Guests will laugh away the winter blues with one or two night packages during the popular comedy weekend. The two-night package starts from $259 per night and includes:

·         Accommodations for two
·         Friday, 9pm - Comedy show at Algonquin Theatre (shuttle provided)
·         Friday, 11:15pm - Late night uncensored comedy show at Deerhurst Resort
·         Saturday, 12-6pm – Comedy in the Park, Huntsville (includes one drink ticket, ice bar, live music, dog-sled rides and comedy acts all afternoon)
·         Saturday, 6pm – “Stand-up” dinner reception at Deerhurst
·         Saturday, 9pm – Rob Schneider comedy show at Deerhurst
·         Saturday, 11:15pm – Late night uncensored comedy show at Deerhurst

A host of talented comedians are set to appear at the festival including: Canadian Comedy Person of the Year, Nikki Payne; MTV’s Punk’d regular, Rob Pue; Just for Laughs’ Tim Rabnett; Great Canadian Laugh Off winner, Jeff McEnery; Kristeen Von Hagen, 2012 Female Comedian of the Year; Ryan Dennee (Barn Burner Comedy Tour, Sirius XM Satellite Radio); Tom O’Donnell, Great Canadian Laugh Off finalist; Ben Miner, Sirius XM Satellite Radio Host; and Tyler Morrison, winner for Best New Stand Up at Toronto’s Hogtown Comedy Festival. Comedy event admission is restricted to 19 years and older and material may be explicit.
