Cynthia Dale’s much anticipated concert begins at the Stratford Festival

The Stratford Festival presents an exciting new concert from one of its most beloved performers: Cynthia Dale in Concert: Outside Looking In.

After her dazzling performance as Dorothy Brock in 2012’s enormously popular 42nd Street, Cynthia Dale makes her eagerly anticipated return to Stratford this season.

This time, she is presenting a concert, through June 21, for the inaugural season of The Forum, the new festival within the Festival, which offers a series of activities and events designed to make Stratford an immersive, all-encompassing cultural experience.

Ms Dale, with special guest Dan Chameroy, will present a full-length program of song, featuring a moving selection of famed pop, classic and Broadway hits, inspired by themes of the 2013 Festival season.

“I am very excited to have Cynthia’s concerts as part of our very first Forum,” says Artistic Director Antoni Cimolino. “Her warmth and energy come through so beautifully on stage, and this is a rare opportunity to see her in the intimate setting of the Studio Theatre, which will only further showcase her incredible talents. This promises to be a fun, jubilant afternoon and a real treat for those in attendance.”

Ms Dale’s many memorable Stratford appearances include: Camelot, My Fair Lady, Guys and Dolls and The Sound of Music. A true triple sensation, she is well-known for being an award-winning actor, singer and dancer. She has worked extensively in theatre from Toronto to New York and on screen in countless television and film productions.

After working together on 42nd Street, Ms Dale and acclaimed director Gary Griffin reunite for this production. Mr. Griffin has had a prolific career in theatre, with a string of hits to his name including Oprah Winfrey’s Broadway production of The Color Purple and the London production of Pacific Overtures, as well as Stratford productions of Camelot, Evita and West Side Story.

In addition to Mr. Griffin, the production’s artistic team includes Music Director Rick Fox, Costume Designer Debra Hanson, Lighting Designer Kevin Fraser, Sound Designer David Campbell, Script Consultant Dean Gabourie and Coordinator Nora Polley.
