Fun on the farm at Fanshawe Pioneer Village this season

June 11, 2013, London Ontario - Urban folk will have the chance to connect with the rural heritage of London and Middlesex County on Saturday June 15th  and Sunday, June 16th

Come meet the sheep, pigs, ducks and poultry who will live at Fanshawe Pioneer Village this season. Join us as we announce the winning names for the pigs at Fanshawe Pioneer Village.

See heavy horse teams planting spring crops in the farm fields. Meet the horses and their owners and learn about their history and the role of a heavy horse on a farm.

Watch demonstrations of sheep shearing and herding as well as bee-keeping at the London Brewery. Join us for weaving and blacksmith demonstrations, as well as children’s crafts at the Little Log School House.

 Bring dad for a Father's Day brunch fit for a King at the Pioneer Village CafĂ© on Saturday or Sunday.  This year's buffet will feature roast beef and horseradish, baked potato, seasonal vegetables and fresh strawberry shortcake for dessert.

Choose, But Choose Wisely, an 1812 play by Jeff Culbert

Performance at 7:30 p.m.

This original play follows the life of ordinary settlers in London Township during the War of 1812, desperately trying to eke out a living while caught between two giant military powers.  As British Subjects, they are expected to fight with the local militia. The invading American General promises to do Upper Canadians no harm, as long as they don't take up arms against the US army. And if they do, US soldiers will take no prisoners. What choice will they make? What choice will they have....
