(News Release)

Satisfy your taste for adventure with a new culinary magazine from Ontario’s Southwest.  Eye-opening journeys feature the region’s unique food and drink experiences.

It’s a fresh new approach following the more traditional guide of 2011 that became a standard for many in the industry.

“Personalized weekend experiences motivate today’s consumers to hit the road to discovery and give them bragging rights to the inevitable question “What did you do this weekend?” said Jim Hudson, Executive Director, Southwest Ontario Tourism Corporation.

Working with tourism and food and drink specialists, five themed, mapped itineraries offer self-directed getaways to where they want to go most across the region.

Each itinerary gives consumers an outline of what they could do around a weekend of local culinary experiences and, how they can share their passion for food and drink with local farmers, chefs, winemakers, and brew masters.

In addition to our region's bountiful culinary experiences, there are plenty of suggestions for activities along the way to help work up an appetite including agri-tourism, birding, cycling, beaching, shopping and much more” said Grace McGartland, Southwest Ontario Tourism Corporation Director.

Hand-in-hand with the magazine is a completely redesigned Ontariossouthwest.com. Redesigned with responsiveness in mind, it can now be viewed on any device … desktop, tablet, or mobile.

The magazine will be inserted into the September issue of Food & Drink magazine which can be picked up at LCBO stores in Southwestern Ontario and the GTA. Copies will also be in the September issues of Lake Erie Living Magazine and Long Weekends Magazine to encourage U.S. friends to plan their getaways in Ontario’s Southwest. Copies will be at many regional tourism offices and various events.

Ontario’s Southwest Culinary Magazine was produced by the Southwest Ontario Tourism Corporation and researched, written and designed by Propeller Advertising. The website was designed by adHOME Creative. Funding was provided by the Government of Ontario.
