(News Release)
Salamanca,
NY - T&D Carvings, the Appalachian Arts Studio, and the Seneca
Allegany Resort & Casino are proud to announce the "Carving at the
Casino" event, being held at the Seneca Allegany Events Center on
September 26-28, 2014.
“We’re very excited to have all the
carvers come down to the Carving at the Casino event,” said Tom and
Dawna Ceriani, owners of T&D Carvings. “This time we’ll be making
chips at the casino, instead of just playing them!”
The event
will feature 25 carvers from across the nation that will be performing
and carving for the public, leading up to live auctions on September
27-28. Attendees will be able to bid on their favorite pieces to take
home. Carvers attending include award-winning champions and fan
favorites from events around the world.
“Seneca Allegany Resort
& Casino is pleased to welcome some of the world’s top carvers to
the Southern Tier Region,” said Gus Tsivikis, general manager for Seneca
Allegany Resort & Casino. “Our location in Salamanca is perfectly
suited to celebrate the outdoors and the arts, and the Events Center
will offer plenty of space for artists, vendors and attendees.
It’s the
same venue that regularly hosts weddings, conferences and the world’s
greatest musicians and comedians. Later this month, T&D Carvings and
the Appalachian Arts Studio will take excitement to a completely
different level inside the room, with an event for the entire community
to enjoy.”
World champion ice carver Stanley Kolonko will also
be performing and carving live during the event. Kolonko is the owner
and operator of The Ice Farm, located in Auburn, NY.
Throughout
the day, attendees can visit a large variety of craft and exhibit
vendors that will be setup during the event. Interested vendors should
contact Liz Boni at 814-772-0400.
"This is a unique event to be
hosting at the Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino," said Appalachian
Arts Studio Director Liz Boni, "it brings together an enthusiastic crowd
in an environment that's charged with excitement, heritage, and
creativity.”
This event is open to the public to attend, free of
charge. Carving begins at 12pm on September 26, 10am September 27, and
9am September 28. Live auctions will begin at 6pm on September 27 and
4pm September 28. Overnight stays may be booked with the Resort, for
those who would like to experience the entire weekend.
