Toronto Zoo on October 5, 2014. The first-ever Canadian Breast Cancer
Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure at the Toronto Zoo promises to be an
exciting, powerful and unforgettable experience for everybody involved.
Runners and walkers can make a wild day of it with over 5,000 animals,
the only giant pandas in Canada, lots of zoo babies and more!

The CIBC Run for the
Cure is Canada's largest single day event in support of breast cancer
research, health education and advocacy programs.This new partnership
between the CIBC Run for the Cure and Canada's premier zoo is exciting

September is Hyena Enrichment Extravaganza month!
Every
Saturday at 2:00 pm in the African Savanna, come meet our Spotted
Hyenas Pinduli, Moja, and Echo! Watch these amazing dog-like carnivores
interact with their keepers and enjoy some laughs over
a few tasty treats!

you know the red panda is the original panda and was discovered almost
50 years before the giant panda? Learn all about these amazing and
endangered creatures and meet our red pandas! Don't miss a special
meet-the-keeper talk plus enrichment feeding at 12:00 noon and 3:00 pm
and bid on fun prizes in a panda-themed silent auction. All proceeds
support the Red Panda Network, an organization committed to the
conservation of wild red pandas and their habitat.

Bring your e-waste to the Toronto Zoo
on September 27th and help support great ape conservation. This event,
in support of PhoneApes and National Forestry Week, helps to promote the
importance of protecting and replanting forests for ecosystem
protection, wildlife conservation and climate change. In particular this
event directly correlates to the message of protecting the forest
habitat of great apes in our PhoneApes program. September is also a good
time of year for e-waste collection as new students return to school
many old e-waste products are being discarded.
The Toronto Zoo will be accepting Monitors, TVs, Computers, Notebooks, Servers, Wire, Aluminum, Keyboards, Mice, Electronic Scrap, Small Appliances, Laptops, Tablets and, of course, Cellphones! The collection truck will be located on the side walk near the drop-off-loop at the zoo's front entrance. All participants that drop of an e-waste item will receive a coupon for 25% off at the Zoo's gift shops.

Veterans and the general public are
invited to join in remembering and honouring the many wartime sacrifices
that Canadians have made for their country. Admission for veterans and
all guests attending the ceremony is free from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. The
year round parking fee will be in effect except for VIP's, Veterans in
uniform or with medals, crests or other military affiliation insignia,
as well as any other persons in uniform, including serving members of
the armed forces, police, fire, ambulance and TTC.
