Muskoka's three breweries brewing up maple fun

(News Release)

HUNTSVILLE, Ontario --In celebration of the Muskoka Maple Trail & Festival, Lake of Bays Brewing Company, Muskoka Brewery and Sawdust City Brewing Company have teamed up to create their first collaboration beer, and it has been an instant hit.

The collaboration brew – Pancake Breakfast Specialty Maple Ale – is a toasted golden brown ale that is inspired by a perfectly flipped pancake.

With a doughy malt centre, aromas of cinnamon and vanilla lead the way while the maple syrup provides a rich body and lingering sweet finish.

The maple ale will remind you of sitting around the table enjoying a warm plate of pancakes drizzled with Canada’s favourite syrup.
Pancake Breakfast was brewed with maple sap being incorporated into the base water, pure maple syrup being added to the boiling process and a third dose of syrup being added during the secondary fermentation process.

The sap and syrup were provided by two local sugar bushes, Sweetwater Maple Syrup in Bracebridge and Maple Bluff Farm in Huntsville.

Muskoka’s three craft breweries are inviting you to visit them and sample this fun and exciting new brew before it is all gone. Available for a limited time, the beer is available in complimentary sample sizes while quantities last.

Lake of Bays Brewing Co: Visit this friendly brewery in Baysville and try their very own maple inspired brew Paint Me Like One of Your French Toasts: Cinna-Maple Blonde Ale, available in samples or by the glass. You can also sample the collaborative brew, Pancake Breakfast Specialty Maple Ale, on tap while supplies last. The brewery is open Friday: 11am – 5pm, Saturday: 10am – 5pm and Sunday: 11am – 3pm. Tours on Saturdays 12-3 by appointment only, call before the Friday of each weekend to book.

Sawdust City Brewing Co: Pancake Breakfast Specialty Maple Ale was a hit at Sawdust City Brewery, and unfortunately they have been tapped out of this collaboration brew. But don’t worry, they still have their own one-of-a-kind maple brew for you to try, their limited release beer Eagle’s Tear. Brewed with pure Muskoka water, this Maple Coffee Sour Red Ale is available on tap in The Sawdust City Saloon. Request a booking for a brewery tour, offered 12pm to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Brewery is open daily, 9am – 11pm.

Muskoka Brewery:  For the Muskoka Maple Trail, Muskoka Brewery will have the collaboration brew, Pancake Breakfast Specialty Maple Ale, on tap while supplies last. Visit the brewery to sample this fun new brew, visit their on-site retail store and pick up their Spring Seasonal The Legendary Oddity. Stop in for a Brewery Tour on Friday and Saturday.
