Chocolate-infused food pairings are a sweet…and savoury addition to the Days of Wine & Chocolate

FOR IMMEDIATE USE

NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE, ON -- The Days of Wine & Chocolate Touring Pass Event is back in 2013 and the Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake are showcasing more delectable wine and chocolate-inspired pairings than ever before.

Each of the 28 member wineries will pair a premium VQA wine matched with new chocolate-infused dishes. The event takes place weekends, including Fridays, during February 2013 (1/2/3, 8/9/10, 15/16/17, 22/23/24) from 11 am to 5 pm.

“This year we will be increasing the scope of food pairings to include both sweet and savoury dishes infused with decadent chocolate,” remarks Tim Coons, chair of the Days of Wine & Chocolate committee, “Using local ingredients and chocolate to accompany our wines adds a delicious new feature to this popular event.”
Each of the 28 Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake have assigned their winemakers with the task of finding the perfect wines to accompany decadent chocolate infused dishes. The wine and food selections will tantalize the palates of guests with both classic flavour combination and unexpected sweet and savory surprises.
