You don’t want to Miss New Year’s Eve in Niagara Falls

Stay close to the action for an iconic and memorable celebration
NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. — With a lineup of unparalleled entertainment and the eyes of the nation watching, New Year’s Eve in Niagara Falls promises to be like no other this year.
You don’t want to miss the chance to be part of the massive party in Queen Victoria Park, featuring a roster of Canada’s hottest musical acts, which will be watched by 2 million viewers across the country.
Or even the opportunity to feel the beat of a homegrown world famous electro-house artist.  Niagara Falls also offers a myriad of restaurants for every taste, entertainment of all types and hotel rooms with stunning views of the iconic Niagara Falls themselves.
 “Niagara Falls is the place to be this New Year’s Eve, and whatever you are wanting to do you are sure to find it in the Falls,” says Anthony Annunziata, Vice president of Marketing at the Marriott Gateway on the Falls and the Marriott Fallsview Hotel & Spa. “Niagara Falls is great at any time of the year, but the excitement ratchets up on December 31st. We’ve got the big bashes and the live music, we’ve got our two casinos, we have world-class restaurants and we have all the beauty and charm of the Niagarawine country. You have got to be a part of it.”
More Canadians will tune in to Entertainment Tonight Canada and Global Television’s New Year’s Eve at Niagara Falls broadcast than any other New Year’s show in the country. Queen Victoria Park will be packed with 30,000 revellers, including ET Canada hosts Cheryl Hickey and Rick Campanelli, enjoying live music by some of Canada’s top acts, including:
Nelly Furtado, winner of 2 Grammy Awards, 10 Juno Awards, 3 MuchMusic Video Awards and a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame;
Hedley, a pop-punk band from Vancouver that has won three Juno Awards and eight MuchMusic Video Awards; and
Dragonette, a Toronto-based electro-pop group.
The party also includes fireworks at 9 p.m. and midnight. But while that party grabs the headlines, it is really only the surface of what there is to see and do in Niagara Falls.
Niagara Falls’ own Grammy-nominated Deadmau5, winner of three Juno Awards, will be headlining a huge dance party at the Scotiabank Convention Centre. Along with Chris Lake, Burns, DVBBS and The Sour DJs, Deadmau5 will be showcasing his beats and electro house dance music at the Golden New Year’s Eve bash, being held just steps from the Marriott Gateway.  For tickets please call: Marriott Gateway @ 1 800 618 9059 or Marriott Fallsview @ 1 888 501 8916.
“The Marriott hotels in Niagara Falls put your in the front row of two Canada’s biggest New Year’s Eve parties,” says Annunziata. “The Marriott Fallsview overlooks Queen Victoria Park, and the closest hotel to the party at the convention centre is the Marriott Gateway.”
New Year’s Eve packages at the Gateway and Fallsview both include free transportation to the casinos and attractions of Niagara Falls.
But your New Year’s activities in Niagara Falls encompass more than just nighttime pursuits. Spend the afternoon touring through the picturesque vineyards of Niagara wine country sampling a selection international award-winning wines. Or enter 2013 stress free after a massage and skin treatment at Serenity Spa by the Falls.
“New Year’s Eve in Niagara Falls is about so much more than counting down to midnight,” says Annunziata. “The parties and concerts are great, but we have the fireworks and dining and dancing, all in Canada’s most romantic destination.”
