25th Anniversary Event a Hot-ticket Item for Holiday Gifting

St. Catharines, ON, December 17, 2012
– There are only a few more shopping days left to purchase tickets for Cuvée Weekend at the early bird price of $175 per person.  After December 31, 2012, tickets cost $200 per person.
Cuvée Weekend tickets include the Cuvée Grand Tasting Gala and the Cuvée en Route passport.  Tickets can be purchased at www.cuvee.ca, or by calling 905.684.8688.

Whether purchased as a holiday gift for the wine enthusiast or foodie in your life, or as a post-holiday pick-me-up for yourself, the 25th anniversary installment of this best-in-class Ontario wine event should not be missed. The Cuvée Weekend experience kicks off on Friday, March 1, 2013 with the Grand Tasting Gala at the Fallsview Casino Resort.  Now in an exciting new format, the event is styled in the tradition of a Grand Tasting from 7:30 pm to 10 pm.  During this time, guests will mingle with the stars of Ontario's wine and culinary scene.  Over 40 wineries to date have confirmed for this event and will pour samples of their winemakers’ favourite wines.  Ten local chefs will also be on hand creating mouthwatering wine country cuisine at live cooking stations.  The party keeps going from 9:30 pm to midnight during Après Cuvée, featuring music, dancing, an Icewine and Bubbles Bar and Craft Beer Bar.

Guests can tour and taste along the wine route Friday, March 1 to Sunday, March 3, 2013 during Cuvée en Route.  Participating Niagara wineries will feature special tasting flights embodying the best of Ontario wines as selected by their winemakers.  Cuvée en Route guests also have the opportunity to buy the featured wines from the Cuvée Grand Tasting Gala directly from the wineries.  Cuvée en Route passports can be purchased separately for $30 per person at www.cuvee.ca or by calling 905.684.8688 and are available at all participating wineries on or before Cuvée Weekend.

Ticket and event information, as well as announcements about participating wineries and chefs, details about each winery’s Cuvée en Route tastings and overnight accommodation packages, can all be found on the Cuvée website, www.cuvee.ca

Proceeds from the Cuvée Weekend go to the Niagara Community Foundation.  Established in 2000, the Foundation has raised almost $20 million and granted over $4.8 million from its endowment fund created to support local charities working in the arts, heritage, environment, social services, health, education and community development.  Community foundations are one of the world’s fastest growing philanthropic movements, with more than 1,100 similar organizations in 42 countries.
