Goo Goo Dolls' acoustic tour headlines blockbuster spring acts at Seneca Niagara's Bear's Den Showroom

Todd Rundgren, Jim Cuddy Trio and others added to lineup

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel’s 440-seat Bear’s Den Showroom will be a can’t-miss destination for music lovers this March and April, as seven of the world’s best acts will fill the venue – including Buffalo’s own Goo Goo Dolls as part of a spring acoustic tour. Also added to the lineup are Todd Rundgren, Blackhawk & The Outlaws, Holly Cole and Jim Cuddy Trio.

Goo Goo Dolls Acoustic – The Otis Midnight Sessions comes to the Bear’s Den Showroom on Saturday, Apr. 12 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $75 and go on sale Friday, Feb. 7 at noon. The Niagara Falls stop is one of 12 tour locations throughout the eastern U.S. during the month of April for “The Goos.” The show will be performed in an intimate “Story Tellers” format with deep cuts from an extensive Goo Goo Dolls song catalog that spans a nearly 30-year history.

The multiplatinum, Grammy-nominated band has scored 14 Top 10 radio hits, more than any other artist in the history of the Hot AC format. They have sold more than 10 million albums worldwide and are the only group to have three songs on Billboard’s “Top 100 Songs from 1992 to 2012,” including the No. 1 slot for “Iris.”

Friday, Mar. 28 at 8 p.m. will be the date and time for an energetic classic rock show billed as The Unpredictable Todd Rundgren. The ever-touring Rundgren makes his perennial visit to Western New York – this time to the Bear’s Den Showroom. Tickets start at $40 and go on sale Wednesday, Feb. 5. The singer-songwriter continues to delight fans with a broad repertoire of songs from 24 albums, including the hits “Hello It’s Me,” “Bang on the Drum All Day,” “I Saw the Light” and “Can We Still Be Friends.” Rundgren also has achieved considerable success as a producer throughout the past 45 years, assisting with recordings for such notable bands as Grand Funk Railroad, Hall & Oates, Meat Loaf, The Psychedelic Furs and Cheap Trick.

Two March acts just added to the Bear’s Den lineup with tickets already on sale are An Evening with BlackHawk & The Outlaws and Holly Cole. Soon after their 1994 debut, BlackHawk amassed nearly a dozen top ten hits on the Billboard country charts, including two No. 1 hits in Canada – “I’m Not Strong Enough to Say No” and “Like There Ain’t No Yesterday.” The group performs Saturday, Mar. 1 at 8 p.m., and tickets start at $50. Cole, a Juno Award–winning jazz singer from Halifax, Nova Scotia, returns to the Bear’s Den for the first time since a sold-out performance in February 2011. Her latest album, “NIGHT,” covers ballads by diverse artists such as Gordon Lightfoot, Tom Waits and John Barry. Cole comes to Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel on Friday, Mar. 14 at 8 p.m.; tickets start at $40.

Finally, booked for a late-April performance on Friday, Apr. 25 is Jim Cuddy Trio, featuring the lead singer for the legendary Canadian alt-country group Blue Rodeo. The show begins at 8 p.m. and tickets start at just $30. Blue Rodeo, an 11-time Juno Award winner, was recently inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and earned a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame in Toronto. Blue Rodeo released its 13th studio album, “In Our Nature,” this past October, and Cuddy also has three solo albums to his credit. He will no doubt have plenty of materials from which to choose for the Bear’s Den performance, including hits such as “’Til I Am Myself Again,” “5 Days in May,” “It Could Happen to You” and “New Morning Sun.”

The five new acts join a March and April lineup that includes two additional Bear’s Den shows that have just recently sold out: Grammy Award–winning blues guitarist and singer Keb’ Mo’, and original Yes lead vocalist Jon Anderson. Tickets for upcoming shows are available for purchase at Seneca Casino box offices, Ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster locations or by phone at 800-745-3000.
