Wizard of Oz: Give the show with heart -- and Lindt Valentine chocolates -- at the Ed Mirvish Theatre

Sweeten the pot this Valentine's Day with the gift of chocolate. With the purchase of a pair of regular priced tickets to THE WIZARD OF OZ, for all performances from February 12 - 17, receive a box of Lindt Valentine Chocolates, (while supplies last).

And to make this Valentine's Day even sweeter, all purchasers of this offer will be entered into a draw to win one of four $500.00 gift certificates to Birks.  Dreams really do come true (at the Ed Mirvish Theatre.)

Since this new production of the classic story began performances in Toronto on December 20, 2012 it has been an audience favourite, selling out most performances, garnering enthusiastic standing ovations at every single show and already building a loyal following of repeat attendees.

Of course, the show is perfect for family audiences, as to be expected. However, the big surprise in the audience is the large number of young couples on dates. In their twenties or early thirties, these people grew up with the story and are now coming back to it as young adults to look anew at the iconic characters and songs. For them, THE WIZARD OF OZ is the perfect date show -- a big, bold and thrilling new telling of the story, and the perfect way with which to celebrate that sweetest of all occasions, Valentine's Day.

Starring Danielle Wade as Dorothy, who was chosen by the Canadian public through CBC TV's ‘Over The Rainbow’, and an all-Canadian cast, THE WIZARD OF OZ is playing to diverse audiences of every age.

Also starring in feature roles are Cedric Smith as the Wizard, Lisa Horner as the Wicked Witch of the West, Mike Jackson as the Tin Man, Lee MacDougall as the Lion, Jamie McKnight as the Scarecrow and Robin Evan Willis as Glinda.

The ensemble includes: Larry Mannell as Uncle Henry, Charlotte Moore as Auntie Em, Jordan Bell, Eric Coles, Sam DiGiuseppe, Chelsey Duplak, John Edwards, Kelly Grainger, Sarah Higgins, Julianne Hobby, Jason Huska, Zak Kearns, Ayrin Mackie, Anthony MacPherson, Stewart Adam McKensy, Julia McLellan, Kristen Pottle, Alana Randall, Adam Sergison, Sarah Slywchuk, Andrew Taylor, Jesse Weafer, Cleopatra Williams, Ryan Wilson and Alyson Workman.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new production of THE WIZARD OF OZ is an enchanting adaptation of the all-time classic, totally reconceived for the stage by the award-winning creative team that recently delighted Toronto audiences of all ages with the revival of The Sound of Music.

Developed from the ever popular MGM screenplay, this new production contains all the beloved songs from the Oscar®-winning movie score, all the favourite characters and iconic moments, plus a few surprises along the way, including new songs by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
The North American premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new stage adaptation of THE WIZARD OF OZ is produced by Bill Kenwright, The Really Useful Group, David Mirvish, Troika Entertainment & Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures in Canada.
Costumes are made with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS.
