MAY 23, 2013-Doors Open Orillia will have
many wonderful photo opportunities this weekend to share with your listeners
and readers with over 25 sites to explore.
Be sure to check out the Mississaga Sidewalk Sale and Peter Street
Festival in our historic downtown, where most of the festivities will take
place. You will also want to take some
time to explore these other exciting sites outside the downtown core.
REGAN HOUSE, May 26 12-4PM
Experience life as it was in 1845 when the
Regan family took ownership of this quaint house, now located in Scout
Valley. 12 noon will be the blessing
ceremony of the new 3 Sisters Garden, followed by refreshments and storytelling
in the house
LAKEHEAD UNIVERSITY INTERACTIVE EXHIBIT,
May 26, 12-4PM
In partnership with ODAC, Lakehead is
pleased to feature local carver and sculptor Marg Gurr, along with other
artists who will involve visitors in their creations. Experience many forms of art, including
literary, performing, and visual arts.
THE COLDWATER CONNECTION, May 25 and 26,
12-4PM
Stop by the Coldwater Museum for some Devon
Tea and a glimpse into the area’s history or visit the Mill to learn about
Coldwater’s important role in Ojibway First Nation history
RODNEY FROST HIMSELF, May 25 and 26,
10AM-4PM
Check out this exciting exhibit of
whatchamacallits and whirligigs at the Leacock Museum. Readings of Leacock’s work daily at 2pm.
GRANT’S WOODS, May 26, 12-4pm
Guided hikes through this spectacular
old-growth forest and nature reserve.
