Kick off summer at Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville

New live show, waterfront opening and plenty of activities start Victoria Day weekend

HUNTSVILLE, ON, May 15, 2013 – The May long weekend is the unofficial kick-off to the summer season across Canada and what better way to spend your weekend than at Deerhurst, a Skyline Resort, your destination for all things summer in Muskoka. Starting this weekend the resort shifts into high gear as many seasonal operations open for business.

With temperatures on the rise, this weekend guests will now be able to enjoy horseback trail rides, Hummer tours, Bionx bikes, paintball and tennis courts. Splash Passes give guests access to the waterfront with use of canoes, kayaks and life jackets. These activities join the Deerhurst Lakeside and Deerhurst Highlands golf courses as well as Treetop Trekking and hiking trails, already open.

“At Deerhurst we like to say we’re summer activity aficionados,” says Chris Lund, General Manager. “Guests who are looking for adventure will find it all here. With everything we have to offer, Deerhurst has the ultimate Muskoka escape, personalized to fit all our guests’ needs.”

Newly revamped this summer is the classic Decades show.  For more than 30 years, Deerhurst has presented Canada's longest running musical variety stage production. Featuring brand new cast members and a fresh crop of songs from Fleetwood Mac, ZZ Top, Rod Stewart and other favourites, Decades is sure to entertain the whole family from the young to the young at heart.

There is no better way to take in all Deerhurst Resort has to offer than the Muskoka Your Way package, available from $229 per night, which includes a $100 activity credit per night, allowing guests to truly customize their visit. The credit can be used towards any Deerhurst restaurant including Steamers Steakhouse which also opens for the season this weekend, Decades show tickets, spa services, riding stable activities, Treetop Trekking including new self-guided night climbs, Hummer Tours, Bionx bike rentals, paintball and Splash Zone admission.

Deerhurst has accommodations to meet the needs of every visitor with 400 guest rooms to choose from including Main Building rooms, Summit Lodge suites, one-, two- and three-bedroom condo units and the new renovated Lakeside rooms. With so much to offer, guests are sure to find the perfect room to complement their Muskoka getaway.
