At Harbourfront Centre, we celebrate the polar vortex we say bundle up the family in scarves and toques and head for HarbourKIDS Skating Festival, presented by RBC Play Hockey, Sunday, February 16- Monday, February 17, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Natrel Rink, hosted by comedian Megan Fraser, will be buzzing with skating activities, performances, ice sculptures and cool canvasses. When youve had enough of the chill, head indoors for dance workshops, a hip theatre production, crafts, science experiments and lots more. Make it a Family Day weekend of skating and creating.
HarbourKIDS Family Skating Festival, presented by RBC Play Hockey is a two-day free-for-all, featuring Le Patin Libre performing impromptu, interactive figure skating ice shows. Ice Culture Inc. will demonstrate their amazing ice carving skills; while kids get creative painting large ice canvasses.
New and/or little skaters will love the Natrel Slo-Skate Zone an area all their own to hone their skills.
On Monday, meet former NHL star, Wendel Clark who will be signing autographs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.! Then get your photo taken on an Olympic podium from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and have it e-mailed to you to impress your friends. All courtesy of RBC Play Hockey.
Bust a few moves at Street Dance Workshops with Ofilio Portillo; meet RAPunzel in an updated theatre production of the classic fairytale; and power up with Brennan and Dave as they scramble through a musical adventure in the Music with Bite presentation of Victory Quest.
Let's Talk Science will show us how to freeze a bubble, make slime and lasso an ice cube. Arts for Children and Youth takes hula hoop weaving to a whole new level, creates snow creature masks and teaches us how to do a winter dance. And Harbourfront Centres School Visits programme will display art produced by students that will inspire you to greatness.
What better way to warm up frosty hands than by making sock snowmen and marshmallow snowflakes with Wise Daughters Craft Market; or building a LEGO snow castle and the perfect ski slope.
