Simcoe, Ontario -
the Norfolk County Fair & Horse Show presented by Scotiabank is
thrilled to announce the Friday night concert performance for the
Grandstand at this year’s fair.
On Friday, October 9th
at 8:00 p.m., the Eastlink Concert Series presents Platinum selling
Canadian pop rock band Marianas Trench. Having released their album
with the chart slamming Pop 101 last year, the band followed up with
“Here’s to the Zeros”, an anthem to the uncool to huge success.Unparalleled multiple award winning videos that include “Stutter” and “Haven’t Had Enough” have secured millions of YouTube viewers and dedicated fans that are flooding their current sold-out tour in the USA.
“These guys are the hardest working band in Canada” said Fair General Manager George Araujo, “There songs reflect what’s happening right now and their show is even more fun than their videos.”
But it’s the band’s talent, led by lead singer Josh Ramsey that has had Marianas Trench crashing the charts for over 10 years. Ramsey was the genius behind the Carly Rae Jepsen hit “Call Me Maybe” retooling and producing it from folk to pop shooting the song to the top of the charts.
“Marianas Trench will break new ground at our Fair and is perfect for our “Party on the Track” crowd who can dance to their catchy tunes. The Fair connection with Carly Rae Jepsen hit and Mumford and Sons parody from the Pop 101 video were just too coincidental to ignore! There will be straw flying!” added Araujo.
Concert tickets are on sale at norfolkcountyfair.com. This concert is funded by the Government of Ontario, Simcoe Reformer, and Scotlynn Commodities.
Tickets are also on sale for the Friday night Eastlink Concert Series’ performance of Brett Kissel.
