Finalists for LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Toronto's MINILAND vote are announced

Toronto, Ontario -LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Toronto announces the top 20 finalists in search of the top 10 Toronto landmarks that will be immortalized in LEGO bricks and featured in the MINILAND portion of the attraction.

The Top 20 Finalists are as follows:

2. Rogers Centre
3. BMO Bank Tower
4. Canada Life Building
5. Air Canada Centre
6. Casa Loma
7. New City Hall
8. Vaughan Mills
9. Dundas Square
10. Hockey Hall of Fame
11. Parliament Hill
12. Maid of the Mist
13. Pearson Airport
14. Queen’s Park
15. Roy Thompson Hall
16. Royal Ontario Museum
17. TD Canada Trust Tower
18. Scotia Bank Plaza
19. Royal Bank Plaza
20. Union Station

To determine the top 10, the public can voted with the winning 10 landmarks will be announced this month.

MINILAND is the most unique part of every LEGOLAND Discovery Centre because it is designed exclusively for the area where the attraction is located.

“MINILAND is a great way to get the community involved in this attraction because they get to help choose which landmarks go into MINILAND,” says Lara Hannaford, Marketing Manager of LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Toronto.

In addition to the chosen landmarks, LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Toronto's MINILAND will also feature several other interesting and exciting elements, including:

• Moving cars/street cars that drive themselves around the streets of MINILAND Toronto
• MINILAND Toronto will also go in and out of day/night mode. So, every few minutes, the skyline will sequence through dusk-to-night mode with all the buildings internally lit with hundreds of lights.

LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Toronto's MINILAND also features several different interactive activities for guests to participate in, including:

• An interactive building site where the guests can move a crane to lift and move LEGO bricks into place, and a jackhammer which they can use on the ground.
• "Find Bertie and Bonnie" Interactive Game - Children are encouraged to find the LEGO mascots (like where’s Waldo). Children can look on a screen in MINILAND at various hidden cameras to spot them.
• Interactive building podium - children construct something out of LEGO bricks that will be placed into MINILAND - make your mark on Mini-Toronto!
