TORONTO -- From the very first
performance on December 20, 2012, THE
WIZARD OF OZ has been a bona fide box office hit. Audiences have packed the Ed Mirvish Theatre (formerly the Canon) to enjoy this new telling
of the classic story. More than 60,000 people have already seen the show in
just 35 performances, bringing in over $6M at the box office.
And due to growing demand,
the producers have extended the engagement through June 2, 2013 with 150,000
new tickets going on sale on Monday,
January 28. American Express
card members have priority access as of Monday, January 21, through their Front of the Line program.
Starring Danielle Wade as Dorothy, who was chosen by the Canadian public
through CBC TV's ‘Over The Rainbow’, and an all-Canadian cast, THE WIZARD OF OZ is playing to diverse
audiences of every age.
Also
starring in feature roles are Cedric Smith as the Wizard, Lisa Horner as the Wicked Witch of the West, Mike
Jackson as the Tin Man, Lee MacDougall as the Lion, Jamie
McKnight as the Scarecrow and Robin Evan Willis as Glinda.
