First Nations and the War of 1812 Exhibit Official Opening Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation
Hundreds gathered on Saturday, June 22 for the official opening of First
Nations and the War of 1812, an exhibit developed by the City of
Toronto Museum Services in partnership with the Mississaugas of the New
Credit First Nation. The exhibit opening followed the official
ceremonies for the new nimaawanji-idimin kiinwi maanjiwegamik/New Credit
Community Centre (in which it is located). Chief Bryan LaForme led a
ribbon-cutting accompanied by a hand-drummer and prayer ceremony. New
Credit is near Hagersville, Ontario. For exhibit information and hours,
