Heritage Farm Show at the Backus Page-House Museum

(News Release)

Annual Heritage Farm Show September 15th and 16th
Backus Page-House Museum
29424 Lakeview Line, Wallacetown, Ontario

It is once again time for the annual Heritage Farm Show at the Backus-Page House Museum, located just south of Wallacetown.

Demonstrations planned over the two day event feature threshing, a working steam engine, farm horses, a farmer’s market, and historic farming interpretive displays.

While on site, tour the Backus-Page House Museum where costumed interpreters will be available to take visitors on a trip back through time to the year 1850. The current exhibit titled “Get Stuffed~ A Whimsical Look at the Victorian Anthropomorphic Taxidermy Tradition”, runs until Thanksgiving Day.

Saturday’s musical entertainment is an open mic jamboree from 1-4pm with the Country Classics as backing band. Bring your voice, your instruments, and join in. Sunday from 12:30-1pm is musical entertainer Gary Boyle and 2-3pm is the Rocking Oldies; toe-tapping nostalgic songs for your enjoyment. With so much to do, it is easy to work up a big appetite.

The Heritage Farm Show does not disappoint providing a BBQ lunch and bean pot on both days. The Sunday egg sandwich breakfast runs from 10-11 am. The worship service is held at the historic St. Peter’s Anglican Church (celebrating 185 years) starting at 11 am.
