MEDIA RELEASE – For Immediate Release

“Learn and Play, Be a Farmer for a Day”

Woodstock, ON – Leaping Deer Adventure Farm & Market will be available for your ‘Farm Adventures’, just east of Ingersoll, September & October on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am – 5pm, Labour Day and Thanksgiving Monday 11 am – 5pm, & a special event on September 22 & 23.

The ‘Dragon’ is the theme of this year’s corn maze since this is the ‘Year of the Dragon’ according to the Chinese Zodiac calendar. At the store there is a new dragon themed menu and store items. Dragon berry cupcakes or Dragon tail cookies and new handmade dragon puzzles to name a few.

“We’ve gone dragon crazy this year” said Julie Budd, owner of Leaping Deer. “Along with the dragon maze where you can find a hidden dragon, there are things on the menu and in the store that will truly enchant you.”
Besides searching for the dragon “Blaze” in the maze, the family fun continues with some new attractions including a new Goat Walk and Dragon’s Nest. Aside from the fun and games there are scheduled interactive, fun programs to learn more about agriculture.

A new fund raising event on September 22 & 23, “Learn and Play, Be a Farmer for a Day” has been planned and a two day pass is available. Scheduled games and fun interactive programs to learn more about agriculture will be the focus for the weekend.

Teams of 4 (youth & adult) are encouraged to pre-register to participate in team activities, scheduled for either day. Each team is to come dressed as their favourite farm animal, with all team members being over the age of 10 yrs.
There will also be individual competitions for youth and adults; registration is between 11 am -12:30pm each day. All participants will receive an event souvenir and prizes will be awarded for the “Best Dressed Team” each day, Team Awards, and a prize to the highest individual participation.
