WINE ON TAP DEBUTS AT COSMOPOLITAN HOTEL’S EIGHT WINE BAR
TORONTO, ON, July 4, 2013 – Toronto’s Cosmopolitan, a Skyline Hotel is taking the snobbery out of wine.
This past week Eight Wine Bar, the hotel’s intimate bar and lounge, was the first hotel restaurant in Ontario to introduce wine on tap to the menu. Distributed by Group Versay, wine on tap is the latest trend in the wine world.
“Wine on tap is perfect for those who are hesitant to dive into the world of wines,” says general manager Ragnar Pedersen. “Wine on tap takes the snobbery out of choosing a wine, because every glass is the perfect glass, which makes it accessible for everyone."
Kept at the perfect temperature, Versay’s wine on tap is stored in stainless steel kegs. Constant pressure means that it never oxidizes or becomes corked and there is no bottle variation, making for a more consistent product across the board and a better wine tasting experience.
This environmentally friendly product reduces waste by eliminating bottle production, labels, corks/caps and cartons. Currently, Eight Wine Bar is featuring Group Versay Gazerra Pinot Grigio, Vineland Pinot Meunier, Vineland Cabernet and Vineland Unoaked Chardonnay on tap; four distinct wines each known for their diverse palette and drinkability. Guests can enjoy these varieties and choose to have as little or as much as they want starting at $2 an ounce.
An alternative to conventional boutique hotels in Toronto, the Cosmopolitan Hotel is a sanctuary that caters to those looking for a little ‘Zen in the city’. No stay would be complete without taking some time out to visit the Shizen Spa. Inspired by the Japanese word for “nature” Shizen offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
