The Rick Smith Golf Academy opens its first location in Canada
Niagara Falls, ON – The Niagara Parks Commission’s (NPC) Legends on the Niagara Golf Complex is pleased to announce the launch of the Rick Smith Golf Academy (RSGA) for the 2013 season.
One of the premier golf facilities in Canada, Legends on the Niagara is committed to growing the game of golf by offering cutting edge instruction through the highly respected Rick Smith Golf Academy. This is the famed PGA Tour instructor and Golf Digest Contributor Rick Smith’s first signature golf academy in Canada.
“My team and I are very excited to have such a fantastic golf academy location in Canada – Legends on the Niagara is a first-class facility. The management team and golf staff are top-notch and we look forward to offering a truly world-class golf experience at the RSGA to golfers in the region, as well as visitors from all over the globe” said renowned instructor, Rick Smith.
Rick Smith Golf Academies offer customized programs for all golfers from beginners to PGA Tour players. Rick and his elite staff of instructors achieve success by focusing on the fundamentals of the golf swing, keeping a minimal student/teacher ratio to allow for personalized instruction, and using clear communication and state-of-the-art swing analysis video technology.
Bruce Rogerson will serve as Director of Instruction for the RSGA at Legends on the Niagara. A long time Ontario native, Bruce is an accomplished player as well having won the 2010 Ontario PGA Matchplay Championship in addition to the 1997 and 2006 Ontario PGA Championships and winner of the Hunt Trophy in 1997, 2003 and 2006. Prior to accepting the Director of Instruction position, Bruce served as Head Professional at Brantford Country Club where he was Ontario PGA Merchandiser of the Year in 2008.
“We are thrilled to welcome Rick Smith to the Niagara Parks family,” said Janice Thomson, Chair of The Niagara Parks Commission. “Adding a highly acclaimed golf academy like the RSGA is consistent with our focus on building the Niagara region as a premier golfing destination.”
The addition of the Rick Smith Golf Academy is a perfect complement to the offerings NPC’s Legends on the Niagara Golf Complex is able to provide. According to Curtis Labelle, NPC’s Acting Golf Operations Manager and PGA Head Professional, “Legends on the Niagara is a world-class complex with 45 holes of golf, dining and special event facilities, that is completely open to the public. Now we can boast first-class instruction alongside our award-winning practice facility, while developing golfers and growing the game.”
