Experience a 19th century rural fair at the Fanshawe Agricultural Fair

MEDIA RELEASE

London, Ontario – On Saturday, August 17^th and Sunday, August 18^th, experience all the pleasures of a 19^th century rural fair at Fanshawe Pioneer Village.

Village volunteers have worked all season to present their best examples of arts and crafts and garden produce in fair exhibits.  See rare breed poultry presented by the Great Lakes Poultry Club and learn how to raise chickens.

Watch the threshing of the oat crop and preparations for a traditional 19^th century lunch for the threshing crew.   Try your hand at old fashioned games of chance and see a traditional “Punch and Judy” puppet show. 

And…there is much, much more to enjoy at Fanshawe Agricultural Fair on August 17^th and 18^th!

The Village doors are open and the admission is free for Doors Open London and Culture Days.  See Vintage base ball on Sunday at 1:00 pm.

Thanksgiving At the Village - Monday, October 14th

Villagers gather in thanks for the bountiful harvest.  Join the celebration!  Reserve your traditional Thanksgiving Dinner at the Pioneer Village Café. Thanksgiving Day will be the last day the Village is open for the season.
