National Zoo Keeper Week officially kicks-off Sunday, July 15 with
Training and Enrichment Day! Learn first-hand how Zoo Keepers keep our
animals healthy and happy.

The local Southern Ontario Chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers are proud to
host a week-long event celebrating National Zoo Keeper Week! The event will offer rare insight to the
unique  roles the Zoo Keeper plays within your zoo. Come on out and hear special meet the keeper
talks, focusing  on those animals that fascinate the keepers including, Vancouver Island marmots
(picture at the top), see the tools of the trade, and meet some of the animals that your Zoo Keepers
care for each and every day. This is a week you will not want to miss, with special events everyday!

Saturday, July 14
Akan Youth Duo Drummers will be performing authentic African drumming and dancing in the African Savanna Trail at       1:00 pm & 3:00 pm.
Sunday, July 15Training and Enrichment Day Ever wondered how you ultrasound a gorilla? What animal loves pumpkins? Why do we give our animals barrels and boxes? Learn first-hand how Zoo Keepers keep our animals healthy and happy.

Inuit and First Nations Festival PerformanceEmilie Corbiere will be demonstrating porcupine quill work, dream catchers, bone and horn bracelets and mini drums in the Tundra Trek from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
Sunday, July 22
