Sheraton Centre Toronto and the Westin Harbour Castle offer Frida and Diego packages

Official Hotel Packages with VIP access “skip the line” tickets!

TORONTO — This fall, the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) presents a major survey of masterworks by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, two renowned and prolific early 20th-century painters whose work continues to resonate with viewers around the world.

Frida & Diego: Passion, Politics and Painting features more than 80 works on paper and paintings by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera and more than 60 photographs of the couple, whose shared passion for each other and Mexico's revolutionary culture during the 1920s and 1930s have made them Mexico's most famous artists.

Starwood hotels in downtown Toronto - the Sheraton Centre Toronto and The Westin Harbour Castle – are two of the official hotel partners of the exhibition. The hotels offer weekday and weekend packages that include two VIP access, ‘skip the line’ exhibition tickets.

Priced from $219 per room, per night, for weekend stays through November 30, 2012, the package includes overnight accommodations based on double occupancy and two exhibition VIP “skip the line” tickets. Up to two children aged 17 and under can stay for free in the guest room using existing bedding. One night weekday packages are also available during the same time frame starting from $269 per room, per night.

For weekend stays starting December 1, 2012 the hotels are offering extra value, with a two night weekend stay at a preferred $125 per room, per night, which includes VIP tickets to the exhibition. For full details and to book, please visit www.starwoodpromos.com/ago-toronto or book online at www.ago.net/frida-diego-passion-politics-and-painting.  To book by phone call 866-716-8101. The packages are subject to space availability and applicable taxes are extra.
Assembled from three distinguished Mexican private collections on Mexican art, the Museo Dolores Olmedo, Colección Gelman, and Galería Arvil, the exhibition provides the opportunity to view almost one quarter of Kahlo's entire body of work and a range of Rivera's painting styles from his early cubist period and studies for his Mexican murals to his portraits and later landscapes.

Located on Toronto’s waterfront with spectacular views overlooking Lake Ontario and the picturesque Toronto islands, The Westin Harbour Castle is a welcoming oasis steps away from the city's major attractions.  Offering a host of appealing onsite services, including indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, Heavenly beds, full service Votre Beaute spa, panoramic Toula Italian restaurant and the Mizzen Restaurant - guests will leave feeling more refreshed and renewed than when they first arrived.

Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel is connected to the PATH, a 16-mile underground network of shops, including the renowned Eaton Centre Mall.  The hotel offers signature Sheraton brand amenities, including Link@Sheraton experienced with Microsoft®, Sheraton Fitness programmed by Core Performance, Sheraton Club Level and the all white Sweet SleeperTM bed. The hotel features a large indoor outdoor swimming pool with expansive sun-drenched terrace.  BnB is the hotel’s newest restaurant and lobby bar.

With a collection of more than 80,000 works of art, the Art Gallery of Ontario is among the most distinguished art museums in North America. From the vast body of Group of Seven and signature Canadian works to the African art gallery, from the cutting-edge contemporary art to Peter Paul Rubens’ masterpiece The Massacre of The Innocents, the AGO offers an incredible art experience with each visit. In 2002 Kenneth Thomson’s generous gift of 2,000 remarkable works of Canadian and European art inspired Transformation AGO, an innovative architectural expansion by world-renowned architect Frank Gehry that in 2008 resulted in one of the most critically acclaimed architectural achievements in North America.

Highlights include Galleria Italia, a gleaming showcase of wood and glass running the length of an entire city block, and the often-photographed spiral staircase, beckoning visitors to explore. The AGO has an active membership program offering great value, and the AGO’s Weston Family Learning Centre offers engaging art and creative programs for children, families, youth and adults.
